2011 Ram Trucks - An Updated name from Dodge for an Enhanced Lineup of Dodge 4X4 Trucks

The 2011 Dodge Ram 4x4 truck lineup has been tweaked recently by Dodge which now refers to these simply as Ram Trucks.

The Ram 1500 series tout significant updates as the GCWR (gross combined vehicle weight rating) has been further increased and will be further enhanced by folding side mirrors which are powered. Trims such as Sport and Laramie 4x4 benefit from the addition of an on demand transfer case (active). TRX4 trim has been updated by implementation of the Outdoorsman which provides a potent towing package including tow hooks, skid plates and a specialized interior and exterior trim.

The Ram 2500 and Ram 3500HD flavours see a GCWR boost (to 22 000 pounds) with all breeds receiving access to an intuitive electronic information centre, new wheel accessories/options and also a broader palette of internal trim colours. The Dodge Ram 2500 benefits from the addition of a tire pressure system with active monitoring. Other Models like Power Wagon, Laramie, SLT and Outdoorsman receive additional features like an up-to-date nav system and a factory spray in bed-liner. The TRX trim as mentioned above gets swapped out for the Outdoorsman.

The big boys of the Dodge Ram Truck Lineup (4500 - 5500 - Chassis Cab) are the last units to take on the new-shape appearance that first appeared on the 2009 Ram 1500 and the 2010 2500 and 3500HD models. Changes include a more spacious crew cab, upfitter switches that are pre-mounted, exhaust brake (diesel), and a power assisted take-off for manual diesel units. Rams score several best-in-class features as follows: Best GCWR (24k - 26k lbs. for diesel units), best powertrain warranties inclusive 5 year / 100k miles. Let's not forget the largest fuel capacity supporting 52 gallons of octane.

Of all the Ram truck changes, the Dakota has experienced the fewest modifications but now features anti-lock brakes and side airbags as "standard" (included) items.
